Mic Check - at McMenamins White Eagle

Every last Thursday of the month the local community comes together at McMenamins White Eagle to celebrate Hip-Hop with Mic Check!

Kicking off in June of this year with residents DJ Trox & host StarChile, the night featured performances from veteran emcee Mic Crenshaw, one of the fastest rising stars in the Portland scene Mic Capes and one of the hardest working emcees in the region Jon Belz. The crowd was thick and most definitely felt the vibe creating a great night of Hip-Hop in Portland.

Next week the third installment of the monthly looks to continue the trend of bringing great music to the stage following July's event that featured Serge Severe, Matty and Rasheed Jamal.

August Mic Check features the first female emcee of the series in Chicago transplant Karma Rivera. Also on the bill is a man who's produced for most every emcee in the region and is a talented emcee in his own right, Stewart Villain. After releasing his final album and retiring from recording, Mic Check is also presenting HANiF (the artist formally known as Luck-One).

The event is sure to be packed, so pass through early and take advantage of specials presented by sponsor Pabst Blue Ribbon as well as a special treat from sponsor Yanagida.

It's also DJ Trox's birthday celebration, so be sure to show him some love.

Pre-sale tickets are available HERE so don't wait, get yours now.
